(1) If the physical infrastructure, design or form of a project whose environmental impact assessment report has been approved in accordance with section 7 is to be modified, if the structure is to be relocated or modified, if forest area is to be added or if the capacity of the project is to be increased, such action will have an adverse effect on the environment or If not, the proponent should carry out a supplementary environmental impact assessment to determine whether or not such an impact can be resolved or minimized by any means.
(2) In order to assess the supplementary environmental impact in accordance with sub-section (1), the proponent shall submit an application to the relevant agency along with the comparative table according to the environmental index and other necessary proofs after analyzing the reasons for the need to change the various components of the project and the adverse effects that may be caused by it. However, the proponent is not required to submit an application if the relevant body has ordered the proponent to submit a supplementary environmental impact assessment study report.
(3) If the application found under sub-section (2) is scrutinized, the relevant body may grant permission for supplementary environmental impact assessment study as prescribed.
(4) Other arrangements related to supplementary environmental impact assessment shall be as prescribed.
